Why was my payment declined?

Payment declines can happen for several reasons, most of which are easy to resolve.

Common reasons for declined payments

  • Insufficient funds: Not enough money in your account

  • Expired card: Your card has passed its expiration date

  • Incorrect card details: Wrong card number, CVV, or expiration date

  • Bank security: Your bank flagged the transaction as suspicious

  • International restrictions: Your card doesn't allow international payments

  • Daily limits: You've reached your card's daily spending limit

  • Billing address mismatch: The address doesn't match your bank records

How to resolve a declined payment

  1. Check your email for specific decline reason from Stripe

  2. Verify your card details are correct

  3. Ensure you have sufficient funds

  4. Contact your bank to authorize the payment

  5. Try a different payment method

  6. Update your payment information in Settings → Subscription

What happens after a declined payment

If your renewal payment is declined:

  • You will receive an email notification

  • Your subscription may be temporarily suspended

  • We will attempt to process the payment again

  • You can manually update your payment method to retry
